Dedication to Student Success
As a University of Houston-Clear Lake professor from 2003 to 2021, Dr. Alix Valenti saw first-hand the impact scholarships had on student success. So, when it came time for Dr. Valenti to complete her estate plans, she knew she wanted to include UHCL as a major beneficiary. “Education is my passion," Dr. Valenti said, "so providing for scholarships to ensure student success was an easy decision for me."
Dr. Valenti’s planned gift will endow two scholarships in the College of Business, providing funds for deserving students for years to come. One scholarship will benefit graduate students in the Human Resource Management program, and the other scholarship will benefit undergraduate students in the Legal Studies program.
Dr. Valenti received an M.B.A. from the University of Houston in 1991 and a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2003. She also earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from St. John’s University in 1979 and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Tax Law/Taxation from New York University in 1981.
